Hi I am James Durham this is my second wife Julia Ann Mock Teeple Durham. We welcome you to the Durham family history web site. This site is being developed by one of my great great grandsons Frank Durham and his son Jared Durham my 3rd great grandson. There will be many contributors and each will be named and have email addresses so as to contact each line. Our goal here is to help reunite me and my brothers and sisters, the Children of James and Miriam Emmons Durham who was the only child of Samuel and Mary Bogan Durham into a database that will be helpful to the many thousands of our descendants and collateral lines. When the project reaches it potential it would not surprise us to have a Million people listed at this address. Many of the family of my brothers and sisters have living descendants that have searched out their ancestors so that each of these brothers and sisters will have descendants up to the present day living from one end of this great country to the other.

The family of James Durham will be a large one. My first Wife Zelindah Wright Durham died after she had given me 8 wonderful children. One of these children died not long after my wife Zelindah died of Consumption, of that same disease. She had taken care of Zelindah during her days of trouble. Our two sons fought in the Civil War and we were greatly bless to have them return to us following the war. Of those seven children remaining following the death of Zelindah and Druzilla all of them married and brought me grandchildren into the world. About 3 years after the death of my Zelindah a good friend Asa Teeple passed on with the dreaded Consumption also. After a couple of years I was blessed to marry the widow Teeple and combine our families. Julia Ann Mock Teeple Durham and I were then blessed to bring 5 more wonderful children into the world and watch them grow in knowledge and stature. We also were blessed to have the four children of Julia and Asa Teeple in our home also. So as you can see we have a very large family tree.

We hope that you will enjoy the various stories, of family and friends and histories of the various family members. This will be a never ending project so check back or write us to see if we can be of any help in your efforts to find your family members.

This is a very big undertaking and is a new experience for us.  We are open to suggestion and hope you will visit often.  We will work at this as time will allow, and it will take some time before we have this developed like we plan.  Thank you, Frank and Jared Durham
